Artist
Hokuto Kiyokawa (born 1974) is a Japanese artist from Toyama, Japan.
Following his graduation from the Tokyo School of Arts (TSA), Kiyokawa began his career in stage design, special effects, and sculptural fabrication. In 2009, he founded his art studio, STUDIO/HOT.
Since exhibiting at Japan Expo Paris in 2011, Kiyokawa has presented his work in solo and group exhibitions both domestically and internationally. His practice, initially inspired by organic forms, has evolved to explore the processes of life’s evolution, spanning from its prehistoric origins to speculative futures. Through sculpture, he examines the continuity and transformation of life, creating speculative forms that invite viewers to reconsider the relationship between evolution, imagination, and human perception.
